Big Dick Wolves - Social Media & Merchandise Design

Made for Timberwolves Die-Hards.

Born in 2022 at the beginning of the Timberwolves' new era. What started as a joke Instagram account quickly became an overnight sensation. Big Dick Wolves drew in thousands of followers, growing to over 44,000 as of today.

The community is made up of a predominantly male audience aged 18-34. With so many like-minded people following the same account, the Timberwolves fan base has seen a massive boost in community. Big Dick Wolves has become a place for fans to vent, celebrate, and even argue with one another. This community has built friendships and connected people worldwide. Big Dick Wolves has become a global entity in the Timberwolves fan space.

Yes, Big Dick Wolves may be a little provocative, but that is what has made this account top of mind for so many Timberwolves fans.

In 2026 alone, the account has racked up over 20 million views and 1 million interactions.

The Merch

Official merch was first released in May of 2026 with there being drops of 1-3 designs. Over the 3 drops, there has amassed a grand total of over 900 orders, with over 1,000 products purchased.

The account is in contact with some of the rostered players, including Jaylen Clark, who was seen wearing our “Clark County Jail” shirt in Paris, France.

A fan wearing our merch takes a photo with Timberwolves player Terrance Shannon Jr. in Las Vegas during NBA Summer League.

Creative Direction

I wanted to create the real feeling of a merch drop, so I decided to go beyond posting on Instagram. I cast some models and went forward with a full-blown photoshoot.

The campaign resembles a 2000s grunge aesthetic. I used a point-and-shoot digital camera and touched up the photos later in Photoshop to achieve the look.

Inspiration moodboard:

The theme of the shirts for this campaign was

“Public Service Announcements”

This idea creates a very simple design ecosystem. Create a strong “PSA” and put it on a T-shirt. It’s hard to create merchandise for 44,000 people that everyone will like. So we boiled it down to simple statements we can all agree on and wear.

This creates a highly scalable merchandise system. You can make “PSA” statements relevant to what is happening in the season or in real life and put them on a shirt.

The initial campaign post generated over 190,000 views from followers’ organic timelines alone. This post also generated over 10,000 interactions, becoming one of our highest-performing posts. Across all social media, including stories, community messages, and Instagram posts, our campaign amassed close to 400,000 views. We wanted to keep our campaign as organic as possible, so we chose not to use any Instagram ads.

Our merch was live from July 10th to July 19th, for just under 10 full days. In that time, we sold

420 Orders!

With that many orders come lots and lots of packaging and frequent trips to the post office.

Community Impact

“Being a fan from Europe can be harder sometimes, but thanks to BDW and the community, I was able to find other fans and exchange ideas

But the actual crazy thing is that it’s only thanks to the Wolves and the chat that I met Christian because, of course, we were both Wolves fans, and now I’ve been living and studying in Ireland for more than a year, and I see Christian every week”

Matteo, Italy

“BDW has given me the opportunity to meet others who are just as, or in most cases, more passionate about the Timberwolves. What seems like a simple meme page for a basketball team is actually rooted in a community of friends from around the world who can gather and cheer on the T-Wolves. Win or loss, BDW is always a family.”

Jeremey, Florida

“BDW has been a big part of my Timberwolves fandom. I started following a few years ago when I was just starting to watch the Wolves, and it’s been an awesome page to follow. The BDW Discord has been another great way to meet new people and talk about the Timberwolves, and I have made so many new friends because of it.”
